FIVE MOVESvs. EMDR
Trauma therapy via eye movement. Clinically proven. But long.
The Method
What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a clinically validated method for trauma processing. Bilateral stimulation (eye movements, sounds, tapping) helps the brain reprocess traumatic memories.
EMDR is especially effective for diagnosed PTSD and acute trauma. It requires trained therapists, multiple sessions, and detailed anamnesis. Not suitable as a standalone self-help tool.
FIVE MOVES vs. EMDR
| Criterion | EMDR | FIVE MOVES |
|---|---|---|
| Indication | Clinical PTSD / acute trauma | Emotional blockages / patterns |
| Therapist? | Mandatory (licensed therapist) | Certified FIVE MOVES Guide |
| Duration | Months of therapy | One 90-minute session |
| Mechanism | Bilateral brain stimulation | Body signal + somatic discharge |
| Risk | Retraumatisation possible | No retraumatisation by design |
| Carry-over? | Therapy-dependent | Identity shift – permanent |
When EMDR?
- Diagnosed PTSD
- Acute trauma needing clinical support
- Under psychiatric guidance
- Specific trauma memories
When FIVE MOVES?
- Emotional blockages (not clinical PTSD)
- No retraumatisation
- One session, full transformation
- Empowering and body-led
EMDR processes trauma – FIVE MOVES transforms blockages. Different tools. Different levels. Both have their place.
Not trauma therapy – transformation.
FIVE MOVES is not therapy. It's a method for people ready to transform their blockages – in one session.
