Fear of Intimacy.Let someone get close, without shutting down

You genuinely want connection, and the second it's actually there, something in you pulls away. That contradiction doesn't happen in your head, it happens in your body.

What it is

Not being able to let closeness in is a physical protection response that kicks in the moment real connection shows up. It has nothing to do with being incapable of relationships. It's an automatic reflex from your nervous system, which at some point filed closeness as a risk, and it operates below awareness, somewhere your wanting and thinking can't reach.

Sound familiar?

Someone gets close, and out of nowhere you suddenly need air.
During hugs, you're silently counting down until it's over.
You're all the way in, and the next moment you pull back, without knowing why.
The moment it gets serious, suddenly everything about the person feels exhausting.
You long for connection, and feel relieved when the night ends alone again.

Why more of the same won't fix it.

You want it to be different. You've told yourself this person is safe, that you're allowed to open up. And still, something shuts down, every single time. That's not unwillingness. Your nervous system learned to slam the hatches at closeness, and that reaction moves faster than any insight. That's why understanding it leaves you standing there alone, no further along.

The shutting down is physical. You probably know the feeling of something tightening inside you the second someone gets closer. That tightness has a place, and that's exactly where it can be worked on.

The way out: one session.

1

Find your desired feeling

First we look for your desired feeling. What would it feel like to let someone in close and stay open? Often it's a warm sense of connection in the heart space, a feeling of "you're allowed in." That feeling becomes your lighthouse for the whole session.

2

Locate the block, don't explain it

Then we find where the shutting down sits, without asking why. You don't need to know where the reflex comes from. Your body shows you the spot itself, and your Guide walks you there, without reading anything into it.

3

Release it and anchor it for 40 days

Right there, where it's been working this whole time, the pattern lets go. After that you anchor the new openness for 40 days through the app, 90 seconds morning and evening, so your body learns that opening up is the new normal.

Common questions.

What if I'm just a distant person by nature?
The longing for closeness you actually feel argues against that. Distance here isn't a personality trait, it's a protection that made sense at some point. Once the protection drops, you find out how much connection you actually want.
Do I have to talk about my past?
No. Where your shutting-down comes from doesn't need to be discussed. The work happens through the body, not through your story.
Is one session enough?
One session is enough to dissolve it. The 40 days after that you do on your own with the app, 90 seconds each, morning and evening.
Is this therapy or couples therapy?
FIVE MOVES isn't therapy and isn't couples therapy. You come alone, it's about your reflex, not your communication as a couple. Ongoing therapy pairs well with it.

What holds you back has an address.

Over 40 certified guides in 5 countries work with this method. Around 1,000 people have had a session. Yours takes 90 minutes.
